The Winners of “2017 Pinnacle Awards Asia Pacific” Pose at “High Point Furniture Expo
- On the evening of October 16, 2017, Kuka was invited to attend “High Point Furniture Expo” and jointly held the grand “2017 Pinnacle Awards Ceremony” together with the American Society of Furniture Designers.
- In 2017, Appliance World Expo (AWE), American Society of Furniture Designers and “High Point Furniture Expo” jointly initiated the “2017 Pinnacle Awards Asia Pacific”. Relying on AWE, the most influential platform in the furniture industry worldwide, the “2017 Pinnacle Awards Asia Pacific” is aimed at raising the level of original design of furniture in China and the whole Asian-Pacific region and promoting the prosperity and development of the furniture industry of Asia and the world. In September 2017, at “The 40th China International Furniture Fair (Shanghai)”, the“2017 Pinnacle Awards Asia Pacific Ceremony” was held, where 30 excellent original works which can represent the current pioneer design and market trend were announced on the spot and caused a huge sensation at home and abroad. Work “Uta” designed by Kuka designer Ma Qiangyi won this honor. During the “High Point Furniture Expo”, Kuka was invited again to attend the “2017 Pinnacle Awards Ceremony”. Witnessed by the elites in American furniture industry, Kuka, as one of the 12 representatives of the winners of“2017 Pinnacle Awards Asia Pacific”, won the “2017 Pinnacle Awards – Milestone Award”. This is not only a landmark event of “2017 Pinnacle Awards” but also a major breakthrough for Chinese furniture enterprises to improve the level of original design and for oriental design to move towards international frontier, thus being of great significance to the interconnection between and win-win situations of the furniture industry of China, America and even the whole world.
- The work “Uta” is made of nubuck, walnut, marble and other natural materials with succinct modular design, aimed at creating oriental modern Zen. It is composed of three layers of independent seat cushions. The top layer is a fixed cushion, and the two layers under it include a rotatable cushion, a soft cushion and a tea table. You just need to gently rotate it, and it can change from a three-seat sofa to a space able to accommodate 8-10 persons and can meet various activity needs in daily life. If you put all cushions into the base, it will save big space.
